About RoseMarie Cavera

RoseMarie Cavera has represented thousands of gravely injured people in all types of accidents, including motor vehicle cases, trips and falls, construction site accidents and cases involving municipal liability such as assault and false arrest. In the course of her practice, RoseMarie Cavera has tried lawsuits to verdict in nearly every trial court in New York, resulting in numerous multi-million-dollar jury verdicts and settlements. Some of the verdicts and settlements RoseMarie Cavera has won exceeded $15 million. A 1985 graduate of Brooklyn Law School and a graduate of New York University, RoseMarie Cavera was admitted to the State Bars of both New York and New Jersey in 1986. She is also admitted to practice in the various federal courts including the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the federal courts of New Jersey.

RoseMarie Cavera began her career as an Assistant Corporation Counsel of the City of New York, representing the City of New York and its agencies in lawsuits brought against them. While at that office, she was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, Municipal Affairs Committee, for her outstanding achievement during her public service tenure. She was designated one of only two Senior Trial Specialists and was handpicked to try their major cases to verdict. In 1990, RoseMarie Cavera left public service to exclusively represent the rights of the injured, working her way up from an associate to a trial partner with a distinguished and highly regarded personal injury firm. After her years with that firm, RoseMarie Cavera branched out and established her own specialized practice to devote herself to providing her clients with her personal and undivided attention.

As an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, RoseMarie Cavera chaired their annual Municipal Liability Seminar and was a frequent lecturer at other continuing legal education programs in trial practice, municipal liability, motor vehicle cases and other classes designed to teach her fellow attorneys. In addition to the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, RoseMarie Cavera is a member of the American Association of Justice, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, The Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association and the Columbian Lawyers Association. She has been a member of the Judicial Screening Committee, interviewing judicial candidates and screening their credentials, and a member of the Grievance Committee, hearing grievances filed against attorneys. She has also been named an “Outstanding Young Woman in America.”
